In daily life we come across events that we call “coincidences.” The ad that we see in the paper by coincidence changes our lives. The person that we meet by coincidence solves an important problem, or becomes a best friend, or a beloved partner. By coincidence we miss the flight and catch the opportunity of a life time. Or we are able to get on the flight with the longest waiting list when there seemed no chance at all, because someone had decided to cancel at the last moment.
By coincidence we decide to change the route while driving, and we see a friend that we have been trying to find a track of….well, the list may go on…
So what is a coincidence? My dictionary defines it as a combination of accidental circumstances that seems to have been planned or arranged.
I believe I cannot be very objective when it comes to coincidences. One after another led me to Fethiye, for instance. It was not planned, not thought of, or even considered a tiny bit. A phone call, followed by events that seemed totally unlikely, made me a citizen of the town. I feel very happy to be a part of the community; therefore, I can only be thankful for the way it worked out. Unexpected opportunities came up and I allowed myself to be led by them.
In your life, look back and think about what you felt, and how you finally reacted or behaved in case of a coincidence. Life is all about self-discovery; do not be hesitant to investigate. Just observe and realize how the events took place. So, again, I would like to ask you - what could a coincidence be? Is it a random event that comes out of nothingness? Or is there something more to it? I would like you to observe for yourself. Only we can know what our truth is; what is best for us. Nobody else can. We create our own reality.
James Redfield, the author of the best selling book The Celestine Prophecy, through the story in the book, gives some ideas about what he believes these coincidences mean. Redfield wants us to be aware of these occurences that come up and usually change our lives and that give us the feeling that some other process is operating under what is apparent. In this book he shares nine concepts of ancient knowledge and names them insights. He starts with coincidences, as a lead into the mystery of life: “The First Insight is a reconsideration of the inherent mystery that surrounds our individual lives on this planet. We are experiencing these mysterious coincidences, and even though we don’t understand them yet, we know that they are real. We are sensing again, as in childhood, that there is another side of life that we have yet to discover, some other process operating behind the scenes.”
Some call a coincidence a sign, or a mark that we have left on our path in life to lead us in the right track. It is sometimes defined as the way our soul communicates with us. Some take it as a confirmation that our life is on course of our destiny. Some call it, a messenger of magic. For example, Dr. Deepak Chopra, in his book SynchroDestiny says: “I do not believe in meaningless coincidences. I believe every cioncidence is a message, a clue about a particular facet of our lives that requires our attention. … When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities. This is when the magic begins. This is the state I call synchrodestiny, in which it becomes possible to achieve the spontaneous fulfillment of every desire. ”
Each of our lives is special, and we all have our special life story to write and to let unfold. To be able to make most of it, I would like to request you to take notice of the coincidences in your life. Be aware. Experience this conciousness for a while. Observe. Could there be a message for you or not? Next time you realize that you are seeing the same person that you don’t know, over and over again, maybe, it is time to say hello and see if you have anything in common. He or she might have something you need to hear. Or if you keep on seeing the same book more than enough, maybe it is time to have a look. A lead from that book might allow to reshape your life.
Always listen to your heart; follow your heart. Increase you energy level through positive thinking, positive talking, enjoying what life offers you, concentrating on your “haves”, not “have nots”. As we keep our energy high, we are more open to the positive outcomes in life. Likes attract likes.
I believe that our soul knows what is best for us. However, we are usually too mind-oriented to listen to the little voice inside. The more you listen to it, the stronger the voice gets. As Robbie Gass said: “Like an ability or a muscle, hearing your inner wisdom is strengthened by doing it.” And if our mind, our heart and our soul are all alligned and all agree on our decisions, wouldn’t that be a perfect? Wouldn’t it be worth giving a try to listen to all? I am an engineer by training. I cannot look down upon the power of our minds; yet, why not make use of all of our gifts as we continue this journey of life? So let’s listen to our heart and soul. Let’s try to experience and find out how they communicate with us, find our unique methods. It could be worth the try. If not, as Les Brown said: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss it you will land among the stars.”
Meditation is a tool we can use to hear that voice better. Even if you have not done meditations before: just put a pleasant music on, close yours eyes and relax, let ideas, thoughts, feelings come, do not hold on to them, and listen to your inner voice. When you feel that you are done, you may write down what you remember from the experience.
It is important to make sure that what you listen to, is the voice of love, not fear. If you hear the voice of fear, this probably is the voice of your ego. Let it go. Love is high frequency, where as fear is considered to be a low frequency feeling. And our soul speaks only through high frequencies that lift us up. That pure and loving feeling that comes up unexpectedly from inside, usually comes from the Source that our souls are connected to. That voice of love is the voice to follow.
If we allow it , coincidences may be our genuine helpers along our journey of life. Even just being aware of them is a big step. Please test drive all of the suggestions and ideas and see if they work for you. I could only suggest and bring your attention to what I believe in or would like to recommend. However, only You can know what is best for you. You are the captain of your ship; you create your own reality.
Wish all of you the best.
